Good day for the blog…
I like this blogging thing. Lost of thoughts to share today… I guess its been more catch up than anything. Free time is nice…
Two pretty cool articles found tonight. I’m really starting to like the Jesus Manifesto site. They have a lot of good ideas and thoughts on how to live out what we say we believe. First one is very timely to the government tax rebates coming in. The idea is saying, what if we took that money we’re being given which we are supposed to be injecting back into a the capitalist system “saving our economy by consuming” and do just that, but in a new way? What if we gave it to the people who need it most? I won’t steal all their thunder: read and think! I really like the bent that many in movements closely connected to this school of thought are urging Christians to only keep what they need, and to give the rest away. I’m thinking maybe Christian giving is a lot more than just what I tithe off the top. What if it was everything I didn’t need? What if it was also what I need, trusting God alone to provide?
Second one, a simple reminder of who I am: a slave of Christ. This one is especially timely as I have one more semester at Cedarville before moving out into the “real world.” Its the parable of the talents, as it is usually called, contextualized for college students. Hope this encourages some. I’ve been given a load of opportunities next year to minister to people, while at the same time, a busy year of school. When push comes to shove, I want my grades to suffer before I lose opportunity to minister to those I can serve. Hopefully God will provide adequate time for both. Keep my priorities on You, God!

Luke,
Thanks for the links. Glad you enjoyed the posts and hope you’ll continue reading.
Your writing some great thoughts on here as well, keep it up!
