I think it's a true principle that means the same thing as those other passages that say, "the Lord blesses those whose hearts are fully devoted to him(physically [though not always monetarily] and socially and spiritually and emotionally). Yah?

I am no Bible scholar, but I understand this Psalm quite literally as what it says. If you delight yourself in the Lord (to me that would imply that the Lord is truly the desire of your heart), then He will grant you that desire (Himself). God wants to give us Himself, all of Himself (more than I could ever handle on my own)- His Wisdom, His Love, His Grace, His Truth, ... , His All. We just have to choose in our hearts for that to be our only true desire. That is the hard part. To answer your other question, though, I believe that if God is our primary desire, He will allow us to have (and delights in giving to us) our other things that are important to us. In the Bible, I believe it is evident that He wants to provide us with shelter, a significant other, a job, etc... These are not promised blessings that are guaranteed when we say yes to Jesus, but, in His perfect plan, He chooses to bless those who desire Him. Anyway, thoughts from a mere human... I greatly enjoy reading your thoughts, even if I'm the only one!
