If You Pray

without comments

Pray for work. Been job hunting it up lately and nothing has come back in the recent past. I know God will provide, but so far He continues to lead me back to faith in Him for that. Pray for patience, calm and peace.

Will give a good update soon. Its been so long. Life gets busy when you’re hoping to graduate :)

Love all!

New home in Ohio.

without comments

Welcome back to Ohio. Made it up yesterday morning, so this is day two, first full day in the off campus house. Things are pretty slow to start, but thats normal, and not half bad. Got in a few hours of work this morning, and right now, sleep or caffeine is calling me. Love quietness again without having a lot on my mind. Peace. Had good times hanging out with some of my best friends last night (John Gray, Ryan Samuelsen, Shelly Boudreau), as well as some new ones (Amy Clark) at John’s house. Spent the time in good conversation, grilling out, food, cats, and other randomness. It was a really good time, and the perfect way to start of the year with fellowship in the common bond of our Savior, Jesus. Then spent the next 2-3 hours helping Ryan unpack and move into South, which was a good time. Then back here to crash around 1:30ish. Got up before 10, checked in on some work stuff until 1, made lunch, and here we are. Getting ready to play some Half-Life for a bit I think, until John comes by after work, and then a meeting at 9 for the whole getting started thing. So a nice day. Not much else to report. For anyone who hasn’t seen the house, and wants to, check it out here: Mini-House!

…6hrs later to finish the post. Had Ryan and John over for dinner. We ate subway actually, ’cause they missed hitting up Chucks. Good times and thanks to Ryan for spending his gift card on us. Then meetings all night, which was exciting. Got pumped about the Getting Started stuff, plus I’m working with one of the ladies from my NYC trip, so she’s cool. Then talked it up with some DC folk for a bit, which was good to see them again. And then spend from 11:30ish until now at Andrew’s place in St. Claire just chilling and catching up. Good to see him and John Bright again.

Nice to be back around peers after a summer of separation. Summer was good. And now, this is good too. Welcome back all! Up early tomorrow for a day of fun in Columbus. Gonna be a long one…

Highs and Lows….

The Incredible:

Amazing chapel today. Jason Nightingale is a beast :) Seriously though, almost his entire message was him quoting various passages Scriptures, and then reciting the book of Philippians. He did it in such a way too, that made it feel like any other chapel speaker giving a message! It just felt like any other day in chapel, except that it was ALL Scripture!! I think teaching today (to point fingers especially at those who hold strongly to the self-understandability, or clarity of the Bible) would benefit a lot from straight up speaking the Word of God. Not speaking on the Word of God, but actually speaking it, reading it, making it come alive. Especially if we hold to the idea that the Scriptures are alive:

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” -Author of Hebrews

If you’d like to hear the chapel today, I’ll try to post the link once its up.

The Ugly:

If you read this and you are part of the blogging or news media arena, please, PLEASE leave my school alone! Large media outlets (mostly local) are picking up on the controversy going on at this campus. Its been blown so far out of proportion now that its getting ludicrous! This university is in no way going to hell in a hand basket as everyone seems so eager to paint it right now. So many uninformed and uninvolved people are trying to get their two cents in while doing nothing but damage to the name of Jesus and to our reputations as Christians. Please pray for Cedarville University, for the administration caught up in all of this, and that God would somehow come out as glorified in all of this mud throwing… Its really hard to see how that can happen as far as its come.
